According to Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services, there was an increase in calls during Ever After Music Festival this year
There were 40 calls made and 34 of those calls resulted in people being transported to local hospitals.
Meantime, Deputy Chief Jim Topham says they recieved 37 calls during last year's festival and 32 people ended up being taken to hospital.
He says they prepared in advance for the music festival. "The call volume has increased. In order to support the event and not effect normal deployment we upstaffed a number of vehicles over the course of the weekend, beginning Thursday evening right through the weekend."
Most of the calls made were related to substance and alcohol misuse and some physical injuries.
The festival took place this past weekend at Bingemans in Kitchener.
