Our newest batch of Regional Councillors will officially be sworn in Wednesday evening at the Inaugural Regional Council meeting.

Former Chair Ken Seiling will be at the meeting presenting the Chain of Office to Chair Karen Redman before her inaugural address.

Seiling joined The Mike Farwell Show on 570 NEWS today, he offered some advice to our incoming Chair.

"If you try and portray, or make people feel at least, you're weighing what they have to say and that you respect their opinions then at the end of the day they recognize you have your own opinions," says Seiling. "I was at the Woolwich Inaugural Meeting last night and the last gentleman that spoke to me said 'I didn't always agree with you but I respected your ability to deal with people in the community' so, that's all that counts."

570 NEWS spoke with Redman on Friday when Seiling turned over the keys to the office.

"Big shoes to fill, but very excited about the future, very excited about the Regional Council I will be working with." she said.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Regional Council Chambers on Frederick Street in Kitchener, led by women's drumming circle Mino Ode Kwewak N’Gamowak, and the Suddaby Public School Junior Choir performing our national anthem.

570 NEWS will have a reporter there.
