The Rangers Reach 50/50 Raffle draw has raised thousands of dollars this year.

At the time of publishing, organizers indicated that the winner of the jackpot will be taking home over $7,000. They say they will be picking out the winners at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Executive Director Craig Campbell says they have had to think outside the box to encourage people to get involved.

"I have to really take an opportunity to thank good community partners like Rustico Restaurant and Bar in Kitchener. Simon approached us and said he wanted to be involved, asked what he could do and stepped up. Even if you're the loser.., you still have a chance at five $100 gift cards from Rustico."

He says the funds raised will go to four organizations -- the Canadian Mental Health Association of Waterloo-Wellington, Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region, The House of Friendship and the Food Bank of Waterloo Region.

"Those four charities were targetted as recipients because this time of the year, there would have been some participation, whether it is at the arena, at a game or just outside of the game, where they would have been supported by activities with the Rangers in their community corner."
