The Special Victims Unit continues to investigate after an alleged sexual assault in Cambridge.

Waterloo Regional Police say it happened sometime overnight on April 23.

A 26-year-old woman was reportedly walking in Riverside Park when a suspicious man approached her at the entrance. After a brief conversation, he reportedly sexually assaulted her.

The victim was able to escape and left the park.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s, around 5'10'' to six feet tall, with a heavy build and short brown hair. He had a goatee with a chinstrap beard, and was wearing a grey sweater.

The man is believed to drive a dark-coloured Dodge Ram pick-up truck.
