The Ministry of Transportation has confirmed that crews will be taking on the next steps of the Highway 8 ramp reconstruction project beginning this Friday.
As a result, the westbound off-ramp to Highway 8 from Highway 401 will be closed, as will the 401 off-ramp to King Street/Shantz Hill.
The westbound ramp closures are expected to begin Friday at 11 p.m., and persist until Saturday at 7 a.m.
However, westbound motorists will still be able to get through the area on the 401 and pass through the closure. Drivers can take the next nearest exit onto Homer Watson Boulevard.
Westbound commuters can also choose to get off the 401 earlier onto Hespeler Road.
It's all good news for those travelling eastbound, as none of the ramps will be affected and will remain open.
The MTO also confirms there will be another overnight ramp closure from the westbound 401 to Highway 8 in the near future. That work will take place on the weekend of September 14, or September 21.
