It's shaping up to be a beautiful weekend and Ontario Provincial Police are out with a reminder to stay safe in the sunshine.

This comes on the heels of Canada Road Safety Week which saw OPP lay nearly 7000 speeding charges across the province.

Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says many of us will be soaking in the sun over the next few days.

"Enjoy it but please be careful out there, please drive with your full attention on what is going on around you, we had four fatalities over the Victoria Day Long Weekend, and this weekend is shaping up to be an absolute stunner."

He adds with the nicer weather comes an increase in foot traffic such as walkers, joggers, and cyclists.

"Those vulnerable road users are suspect to serious injury."

Schmidt adds anyone on the water this weekend should also use extra caution and be sure to wear a life jacket.
