Nutrition for Learning plans to continue its program this summer.

It will supply nutritious food for ten schools across Waterloo Region.

In July, it's estimated close to 3,000 students will attend summer school classes.

Nutrition for Learning will continue to offer health foods like cheese, apples and granola bars at each location where summer school is being offered.

They say they are able to offer the program in July thanks to a generous grant from the Kitchener Waterloo Community Foundation.

During the course of the school year, over 23,000 students in 135 schools have access to the programs offered by Nutrition for Learning.

They say having access to appropriate food and nutrition is vital for daily learning.
