Last year, the Mennonite Central Committee was able to ship almost 775,000 cans of turkey, beef, chicken and pork to people around the world.
Their food systems have been disrupted by conflict, drought or natural disaster.
The MCC's "Meat Canner" will be back in Elmira on Monday, April 22.
Hundreds of volunteers will gather at the Elmira Produce Auction Centre at 7400 Reid Woods Drive, to help meet that need again.
The Executive Director of MCC witnessed firsthand how the operation came together in 2018.
"Having just celebrated National Volunteer Appreciation Week, the blessing of our volunteers was fresh in my mind. It’s so inspiring to see all these people coming out at the break of dawn and working long shifts, all to help people they've never met," John Head said in a release.
"The impact for those who receive this food is enormous, but it’s also a real benefit right here in Ontario when so many people come together for a common goal - there’s a real sense of community and generosity that is wonderful to see." he added.
The mobile cannery, which travels to 35 different locations in Canada and the United States, will be in Elmira until Friday, April 26.
