Local tech companies to be showcased at October conference

Applied Brain Research, eleven-x and ApplyBoard have all been recognized by the Canadian Innovation Exchange

The Canadian Innovation Exchange (CIX) has announced the CIX TOP 20 Early and CIX TOP 10 Growth innovative Canadian technology startups and three companies from Waterloo Region made the list.

The two Waterloo companies that made the TOP 20 are Applied Brain Research Inc. and eleven-x Inc.

Kitchener's ApplyBoard is on the TOP 10 list. 

"The selected companies represent a diverse range of tech including software, AI, medtech, fintech, big data, aerospace, security, Saas and cleantech." said a release. "These game-changing, on-the-rise companies are chosen by a selection committee of technology industry experts and investors from across the country."

CIX said there were over 400 profiles submitted from all regions across the country.

The TOP 20 program recognizes companies with net revenue less that $5 million or who have raised less than $10 million, while the TOP 10 Growth program is for later stage companies.

CIX's annual tech startup investment conference, which is Canada's largest, takes place in Toronto October 16 and 17.
