Wilfrid Laurier University is hosting its ninth annual Indigenous Education Week for the next few days.
Panels, lectures, webinars and an art exhibition are being held at both the Waterloo and Brantford campuses this week. This in an effort to educate the community on indigenous issues and culture.
Melissa Ireland is the Director of Indigenous Initiatives at the University and says there are a wide variety of activates planned.
"We have an opportunity for the community to not only learn about Indigenous issues, but also experience music and art and film ... it's a chance to reach to our campus community and to our community at large, to show that we have Indigenous presence, and to show there are opportunities to learn more about us, by us."
