Ronald McDonald House Charities has received a big boost this year from sales generated on McHappy Day.
The one-day celebration, on May 8, raised over $6.6 million, which will help thousands of families that rely on Ronald McDonald House.
That's a record for the annual event, now in its 26th year.
"We're so thankful for all the amazing crew members, franchisees and McDonald's Canada guests who truly make this a day to remember each year," said Cathy Loblaw, President and CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada.
The charity provides temporary housing for families during their child's treatment.
In Canada, 65 per cent of families live outside a city with a children's hospital and need to travel for that treatment.
