If you love cats, our local humane society wants to hear from you.
Calla Spencer is Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications for The Humane Society of Kitchener-Waterloo and Stratford-Perth.
"We're in urgent need of barn cat homes. Those homes could be heated barns or workshops - any type of environment that would be suitable for a cat that prefers to live in an indoor/outdoor setting."
Spencer said they're looking for people that are willing to adopt a 'working cat', and provide them with a 'fur-ever' home.
"And as I mentioned, those forever homes could be a heated workshop or a heated barn environment."
Right now, six barn cats are in need of a new home.
"If people are interested in adopting in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, they can call us at 519-745-5615 ext. 241, or if they're looking to adopt in the Stratford-Perth area they can call us at 519-273-6600 ext. 258."
Spencer added the animals available range in age from kitten to adult cats.
"If you are looking for more than one, we can look at adopting pairs out. We do look at what the needs of the cat are, and if that cat prefers to be an only cat, or prefers to have a friend."
