Driver facing charge after police van was hit

A charge of careless driving has been laid following a crash in Woolwich.

Police say a Jeep and Waterloo Regional Police Service van collided on Benjamin Road shortly after 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police allege the Jeep was attempting to make a U-turn out of a driveway.

They say both vehicles sustained severe damage.

Both occupants of the van suffered minor injuries, while none of the three people in the Jeep were hurt.

A woman, 70, from Waterloo, is now charged.
