***Update: Southbound lanes on Homer Watson reopened just after 1 p.m.***

Clean-up crews remain on scene after a crash and diesel spill on Homer Watson Boulevard in Kitchener.

Waterloo Regional Police say it happened Thursday morning when a crash caused a tractor trailer to leave the roadway - puncturing its tank, and spilling fuel into a nearby creek.

The Emergency Spill Response Team has been called in, and southbound lanes are blocked on Homer Waston from Pioneer to Doon South as a result.

The roadway isn't expected to fully reopen until later this afternoon - and traffic, including city buses, is being re-routed in the meantime.

Police say no one was injured in the collision, and the driver of a motor vehicle has been charged.
