The pandemic isn't stopping the Farwell4Hire campaign.
A contact-free bottle drop-off will happen on Saturday in Kitchener from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 26 Elm Street.
The charity campaign, which normally supports cystic fibrosis research, is supporting local charities this year.
If you have any money that would have gone to a now-cancelled hockey game or take-out meal, it can have an impact.
"Maybe you can find $20," said Farwell. "You haven't been able to get your hair done? Not really a problem for me, but for some, it is. You could make a $20 donation from that money you were able to save. If one per cent of our community donates $20, we raise $120,000."
The campaign has raised $26,520 so far.
