Millions of poppies will be handed out in the weeks leading up to Remembrance Day.

The Royal Canadian Legion launched its annual National Poppy Campaign on Friday.

Due to the pandemic, new touchless donation boxes have been introduced this year and some of the country's iconic landmarks will be lit up in red.

"We have more than thirty important partners this year, and traditional donation boxes at 25,000 locations," said Thomas D. Irvine, CD, Dominion President of The Royal Canadian Legion. "While we've had to make some changes because of the pandemic, there are several ways to donate and we are hopeful Canadians will respond as generously as they always do."

The touchless donation boxes are located at HSBC Bank Canada branches, some Ontario Legion branches and in select retail locations.

Funds raised locally will go to the K-W Poppy Fund.
