On Monday, September 14, Kitchener City Council approved a one-year collective agreement between the city and CUPE Local 791.

Earlier in September, the deal was approved by union members during a virtual meeting.

Officials say the agreement will run from April 1, 2020, to March 31, 2021. It will cover 357 full-time clerical, office, and technical staff who provide tasks such as service delivery, bylaw enforcement, engineering services, building services, planning, and development services.

A salary increase of 1.6 per cent is also included for the duration of the one-year agreement.
