A Cambridge neighbourhood has gone all out for Halloween, again

Residents of West Galt have set up 'Pumpkin People' displays on their front lawns

A Cambridge neighbourhood has gone all out for Halloween, again.

This year's theme is television shows.

You can also see the cast of Friends hanging out on the couch at Central Perk, Alex Trebek and his game show,  some handmaids from The Handmaid's Tale,  even some Muppets.

The idea was started by former Galt neighbours Scott and Allison Illsley, and it has grown over the past five years.

Jess Hewitt lives in the neighbourhood and told 570 NEWS they went with a popular reality show - Survivor.

Scott Illsley said it is great to see the reaction from children, and more residents getting involved every year.

"It's a great community and such a fun place to live," Illsley said, noting that every year "the bar is raised" when it comes to the displays.

One of the challenges with these seasonal displays is that it can take a full day or so to make, especially while dealing with some other residents - the West Galt squirrels. Illsley says they have been known to nibble away at the pumpkin heads, so they usually have to make backups.

You can find many of the displays on Aberdeen Road North, on Charles,  also along Lansdowne and Brant.
