Donovan Sebrango is heading back over to North America.
The Kitchener Rangers defenseman signed an amateur tryout with the Grand Rapids Griffins, the AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings.
Sebrango was drafted by the Wings in the third round (63rd overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft.
But because the OHL is on hold because of the pandemic, Sebrango has been playing with HK Levice in Slovakia, where he's posted a goal and assist through four games.
Sebrango posted 30 points in 56 games last season before the pause back in March.
The Griffins begin training camp January 31, with the season starting February 5.
However, no schedule has been released.
