The Ontario Hockey League has announced plans to start the 2021-22 regular season on Thursday, October 7.

The league released some of its key dates on Thursday morning.

The OHL is planning on a 68-game regular season schedule. It's expected to be released in the coming weeks. Players are scheduled to report to training camps on September 4.

“It’s an exciting time for everyone as we turn our attention to a new season,” Commissioner David Branch said in a news release. “We look forward to getting our players back into their OHL communities where they can continue to pursue their goals both on the ice and in the classroom.”

The OHL draft will take place on June 4 and June 5.

The 2019-20 season was cut short, and the 2020-21 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
