For the first time in almost two calendar years, the Kitchener Rangers have a five-game winning streak.
New Jersey Devils prospect Michael Vukojevic did everything except score a goal, nabbing four assists in what was a 6-4 win over the visiting Oshawa Generals Friday night.
It started great for the home side, as Ryan Stepien, Jonathan Yantsis and Reid Valade got the Blueshirts out to a 3-0 lead with the game just over six minutes old.
However, the Generals came back with a trio of goals (two from captain Kyle MacLean, one from Nico Gross) before the period was over to tie it.
Riley Damiani and Yantsis' second of the night made it a 5-3 game, a wild one with lots of bodies sent to the penalty box.
In the third, things started to calm down.
William Ennis' rocket with just over two minutes left brought Oshawa to within one.
But Greg Meireles iced it shortly after on an empty netter.
Of note for Oshawa, they lost rookie import Oliver Suni after he was sent into the boards awkwardly by Vukojevic halfway through the third.
He had to be helped off by the trainers, and his condition is unknown.
Lucas Pfeil made 33 saves --- and added an assist --- in the win.
Zachary Paputsakis stopped 24 shots in the loss.
The Rangers finish a three-in-three weekend Saturday night in Owen Sound.
