Although it won't happen in-person, and there is currently no OHL hockey being played, it's a special year for Don Cameron Potato Night.

2021 marks the 25th year for the initiative, spearheaded by the late Cameron, the longtime voice of the Kitchener Rangers.

Due to the pandemic, this year's Don Cameron Potato Night will happen virtually, and at participating stores.

As well, only monetary donations will be accepted this year.

Participating stores where you can make a donation are:

  • January 24 to January 30 - Zehrs locations in Kitchener and Waterloo
  • January 31 to February 6 - FreshCo locations in Kitchener and Waterloo
  • January 30, Feb. 6 and Feb. 13 - donations will be accepted at Giant Tiger on Margaret Avenue

You can also donate online.

Donations go to the House of Friendship, which helps over 40,000 people each year with food, shelter, addiction treatment and community resources.
