St. Mary's General Hospital in Kitchener adjusted its visitor policy this week.
Strict protocols have been in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused a major strain for those admitted.
"We've heard from staff, patients and their families about the importance of balancing safety and compassion," said a post on the SMGH website.
The changes will allow patients to see visitors more frequently, although the hospital said there should only be one designated visitor per patient throughout the course of their stay.
New safety measures have also been implemented, like new 'Wayfinder' positions that will ensure limited interaction between clinical staff and visitors.
