For a second straight day, no new local COVID-19 cases

Active cases drop from 36 to 20

For the second day in a row, the local health department is reporting no new cases of the coronavirus.

There's also been a change to the total number of cases since March, which has been revised to 1,394.

Meantime, the number of active cases dropped dramatically, from 36 Wednesday to 20 on Thursday.

Just one patient is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

The number of resolved cases improved by 15, pushing that total to 1,255.

The number of local deaths linked to the virus remains at 119, as no additional ones have been reported since July 17.

There are currently two outbreaks - A.R. Goudie long-term care and Columbia Forest long-term care.

Here's the provincial COVID-19 breakdown for Thursday:

  • 39,809 total cases (95 new)
  • 71 people are being treated in hospital
  • 35,906 resolved cases
  • 2,783 deaths (one new)
