COVID-19 cases continue to appear in schools in Waterloo Region.

The latest case has been confirmed in a student at Preston High School in Cambridge.

The student was last in the school on Wednesday, September 16.

Officials with the health department are in the process of contacting all high-risk contacts.

"At the guidance of Public Health, high-risk contacts in the identified cohort and a few additional bus riders will be directed to self-isolate until at least September 30, and longer if symptomatic." said a release from the Waterloo Region District School Board.

It's the seventh coronavirus case in a local student, and sixth one that has been confirmed in the last three days.
